Safety Management
Galloway Travel is committed to taking all reasonable measures to ensure that you benefit from a high level of safety throughout your tour by:
- Establishing and maintaining a written health and safety policy document.
- Facilitating and promoting a positive health and safety culture throughout our own, our clients’ and our suppliers’ organisations worldwide.
- Planning and setting standards which meet the needs of our clients and which are measurable, achievable and realistic.
- Measuring and reviewing performance of our compliance with the terms of this standard and of our own Safety Management System.
- Ensuring that minimum standards for health and safety are met by our Galloway School Travel Safety Management System.
- The improvement and monitoring of safety standards is the responsibility of all Galloway staff, who are encouraged to raise any matters of concern.
AuditsThe following are audited to minimum standards:
- Accommodation contracted directly.
- Transportation owned or contracted directly.
- Services secured by agents and ground handlers.
Other Tour Components- Airlines, Rail Transportation (including Eurostar), Ferries and Eurotunnel Public Transport are strictly regulated by the appropriate authorities.
- Visits and Excursions are assessed and categorised for health and safety.
- Provision of Pre-Tour Safety Information will be provided to all groups prior to travel.
- Training is given to all employees to meet the requirements of the Safety Management System.
Crisis ManagementGalloway has procedures in place for handling incidents on any scale whether a minor problem, or a major crisis which might require a large scale response. - We cover every stage of the incident including first notification, information gathering, decision-making, action, communication and resolution.
- Accidents, incidents and near misses will be logged, evaluated, investigated and reviewed.
- Emergency Procedures are continuously updated and staff roles allocated.
